You will need to rent a car to get to the house and access the local town of Marbella which is 4 kilometers away. Visiting the old town is a must, with restaurants and shops galore, but still holds the aura of how the village was originally. You can also visit the large array of restaurants and shops on the Paseo Maritimo (beachfront walkway) with all types and price ranges to suit all budgets.
Puerto Banus – one of the largest luxury yacht ports on the Costa Del Sol, it teems with life, international boutiques, local speciality shops and restaurants, and people-watching bars. You will find all the designer shops, the large high-end Corte Ingles department store, movie theatre, nightclubs etc.
From the house it is easy to do day trips to Ronda, Malaga, Granada and Sevilla.
Ronda is a mountaintop city in Spains Malaga province that's set dramatically above a deep gorge. This gorge (El Tajo) separates the city's 15th century new town from its old town, dating to Moorish rule. It is also home to the oldest bull-ring in Spain.
Malaga is the port city on southern Spain's Costa del Sol. It is home to the Picasso Museum, where artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born. It opened in 2003 in the Buenavista Palasce and has 285 works donated by members of Picasso's family.
Granada is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is famous for grand examples of medieval architecture especially the moorish Alhambra palace.
Seville is the capital of southern Spain's Andalusia region. It is famous for flamenco dancing in the Triana neighborhood. Major landmarks include the ornate Alcazar castle , the 18th century Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza bullring, the gothic Seville cathedral which holds the tomb of Christopher Columbus and a minaret turned bell tower, the Giralda.
Parque Commercial La Canada is the largest shopping center in Marbella. With 150 shops of fashion, furniture, electronics and a huge Al Campo supermarket stocked with local and international foods, household goods, wine and liquor selections, and supplies.
It opens from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and on Sundays during the summer.
